State Committee Roles
American Indian Scholarship: This chairman collects scholarship funds for the RAIN Program at the University of North Dakota entitled The National Society Daughters of the American Colonists Recruitment/Retention of American Indians into Nursing Scholarship at the University of North Dakota.
Bylaws: This chairman receives suggestions, studies them and makes recommendations to the General Assembly for amendments to the National Bylaws. Article XXIV of the National Bylaws contains the process for presenting and adopting amendments to the National Bylaws. She also provides assistance, upon request, to state societies and chapters in writing, amending, or revising their bylaws.
College of the Ozarks: This chairman urges members to assist with educational expenses at College of the Ozarks. The College of the Ozarks in Point Lookout, Missouri is a four-year private college; no student pays tuition. Students are required to participate in a work-study program; other expenses are provided by gifts and grants.
Colonial and Genealogical Records: This chairman fosters and assists in the gathering of unpublished records of the colonial period; such as bible, church, cemetery, and early courthouse records.
Colonial Courier: This chairman urges members to subscribe to the national magazine and for chapters and members to submit articles and photos of their activities.
Colors (Flag Custodian): This chairman fosters a greater respect for and knowledge of the NSDAC Banner.
Finance: The State Treasurer shall serve as chairman of the State Finance Committee, which shall be authorized to study the financial assets of the general fund and to make recommendations to the State Board. The chairman and her committee shall prepare the State Budget. All projects involving the spending of money shall be referred to the Finance Committee for recommendation of the amount to be spent.
Flag of the United States of America: This chairman fosters a greater respect for and knowledge of the history of the Flag of the United States of America.
Golden Acorns: This chairman supports the activities and projects of younger members of NSDAC. Each administration the Golden Acorns Committee selects a project that benefits the education of students or future students.
Grammer-Massengill Scholarship: This chairman coordinates the scholarship given to a worthy student attending a college or university in the locale of the region hosting the State Assembly.
Historic Landmarks & Memorials: This chairman marks places or events of historical significance prior to 1900 and graves of deceased members.
National and Local Awards: This chairman presents Medals of Award on college and high school campuses for proficiency in academic subjects, ROTC activities, and Good Citizenship. Medals of Award may be presented to non members for meritorious service in historical, patriotic, or educational endeavors.
National Defense: This chairman keeps the members informed concerning National Defense issues and dangers through articles published in The Colonial Courier.
National Headquarters: This chairman helps with the maintenance and furnishing of the National Headquarters through promotion of contributions to the two operating funds: National Headquarters Fund and National Headquarters Furnishings.
National President's Project: This chairman helps support The National President's Project during her term of office.
Patriotic Education: his chairman encourages public interest in the early history of the nation; fosters its teaching in public and private schools, and suggests such programs and projects as will develop and sustain a love of the United States of America and its institutions.
State Regent's Project: his chairman encourages public interest in the early history of the nation; fosters its teaching in public and private schools, and suggests such programs and projects as will develop and sustain a love of the United States of America and its institutions.
Technology: This chairman ensures smooth administrative functioning for TSDAC by coordinating electronic communication, electronic imagining, and various databases.

Yearbook: This chairman assembles, edits, and prepares the TSDAC Yearbook for publication.

Nominating Committee: This committee of five (5) members shall be elected at the State Assembly in even-numbered years, to serve for two years or until their successors are elected. This Committee shall nominate one candidate for each office to be presented for election at the State Assembly the following year.
Pages: This chairman coordinates the ladies serving as Pages at the State Assembly.
Protocol: Responds to requests for assistance to ensure that NSDAC traditions and policies are observed in matters of correct etiquette and precedence.
