Organized June 30, 2016
Quitman, TX (meetings in Mineola, TX)
Organized: July 11, 2015 – Quitman Tea Room, Quitman Texas
Welcome to the Robert Dibble Chapter, NSDAC. Our chapter is named after Robert Dibble born in 1586. He married in about 1611 (wife unknown) and had two sons. Robert migrated from England to New England in 1634 on the ship Recovery. He settled in Dorchester, Connecticut. He joined the Dorchester Church as a freeman prior to 6 May 1635. Robert and his son Thomas were original landowners as early as 4 January 1635/6 and were granted thirty acres between Roxbury and Dorchester. Beginning in March 1637/8, Robert served as a bailiff for a year and was appointed again on 13 February 1638/9. Robert died on 7 February 1641.
Our National Motto is Past, Present and Future. The objectives of our organization are patriotic, educational, and historical. We honor and celebrate our ancestors who gave service to our county prior to 4 July 1776. To qualify for membership, your ancestor must be eligible under one of twenty six categories listed on the membership menu. For additional questions about membership, please contact Lucille Gilbreath, Chapter Regent at lgilbrea@peoplescom.net or our Chapter Registrar Sharon Logan at sharonjlogan745@gmail.com.
Our chapter meets three times a year in the months of September, January, and May at the Mineola Memorial Library in Mineola Texas. We look forward to seeing you at our next meeting.
Yours in DAC Friendship,
Lucille Gilbreath, Chapter Regent
